WALKER EXTENDS STAY IN TOWN | News

Jamie Walker will remain at Bantam for another year after the club exercised their option to extend his contract until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

After first arriving in West Yorkshire on loan from Hearts in January 2022, Walker made the move to the University of Bradford Stadium permanent at the end of the 2021/22 season, signing an initial two-year deal with the option of a further term at the club .

He has made 82 appearances in the clear and amber to date, scoring 18 times with three goals and two assists in the final four games of the 2023/24 campaign.

On extending his stay at Valley Parade, Walker said: “I’m delighted to be here for another year. Personally, last season I felt I finished the season pretty well. I’m looking forward to coming back for pre-season and going again.

“I love being here. I love the big crowds, the matches and the feeling of being at a proper football club.

“My family settled here, away from football, and I think that’s a big part of being successful on the field. I am always open to doing things in the community and I really enjoy playing for this football club.

“Hopefully this season I can get a full season under my belt and really help the team get going. The foundations are there for everyone and hopefully we can continue and have a successful season.”

City manager Graham Alexander added: “I’m looking forward to working with Jamie again and I’m sure he’ll be looking to pick up where he left off last season.

“It was so frustrating not having him available for such a significant period, but when he was fit I really enjoyed seeing what he brought to our team.

“He understands what we are trying to create and I am sure he will continue to work hard to play a significant role in our plans.”

Jamie Walker will continue to be sponsored by The Good Estate Agency for the 2024/25 season.
