Man to appear in court on firearms and drug charges after ‘shooting up’ Perry Barr home

A Great Barr man is due to appear in court following an alleged “shooting” at a house in Birmingham. A gun is believed to have been fired at a property on Glendower Road in Perry Barr last Saturday (May 11) at around 4pm.

The building was said to have been damaged, but no one was injured. Tyrese Mignott of Foden Road in Great Barr was arrested in connection with the incident.



The 23-year-old has now been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life on Tuesday (May 14). He was also charged with possession of class A and class B drugs.

Mignott is due to appear before Birmingham magistrates on Wednesday (May 15). A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “A man will appear in court today after a gun was fired in Perry Barr at the weekend. The incident happened on Glendower Road on Saturday, May 11.

“Tyrese Mignott will be charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. The 23-year-old was also charged with possession of class A and class B drugs. He was charged on May 14 and remanded to appear before Birmingham magistrates today (May 15) .

“The work of our officers is part of Operation Target, which sees us take a defiant stand against a range of serious crime and organized crime – from drug dealing and burglary to cyber crime and fraud.

“Officers are using local intelligence, executing warrants and targeting criminals as part of Op Target’s ongoing crackdown on serious and organized crime.”
