‘Believers Brew’: Carlsberg and Erdinger celebrate Jürgen Klopp with limited edition beer

“Believers Brew”, created in honor of the outgoing manager, is a limited edition 75cl (8 percent ABV) beer that has been created using an equal split of each beer brand’s signature ingredients.

This means the beer is 50% Carlsberg Pilsner malt and 50% Erdinger wheat malt and yeasts from both enterprises in the two-stage brewing process. In addition, this particular drink also uses a proportion of unique red barley.

Only 491 bottles of ‘Believers Brew’ will ever be produced and sold, one for every competitive game Klopp has overseen as Reds boss.

Each bottle will be auctioned off by Carlsberg, with all proceeds being donated to the LFC Foundation, to be used to fund over-18s-only programs. Bidding will begin on May 16 internationally Graham Budd Online Auction Platformwith starting bids set at £5.

Each of them will be numbered, linking back to a specific device, including notably:

  • Bottle 206: Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona (Champions League semi-final, May 2019)
  • Bottle 208: Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur (Champions League Final, June 2019)
  • Bottle 264: Liverpool 5-3 Chelsea (Premier League, July 2020)

Klopp’s unforgettable tenure, which began in October 2015, saw the club win eight trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.

With Carlsberg a proud partner of Liverpool FC for more than 30 years and Klopp an Erdinger Weissbräu ambassador since 2020, the collaboration between the brands is a rare one in the drinks industry. The name “Believers Brew” is inspired by Klopp’s first press conference as Reds manager, during which he spoke of the need to turn “doubters into believers”.

Louise Bach, Global Sponsorship Director at Carlsberg, said: “At Carlsberg, we never stand alone. We stand with our partners and are incredibly proud of our 30+ year partnership with Liverpool FC.

“Curiosity is a key value of ours and football is undoubtedly one of the most curious sports out there, with progress and improvement a constant goal. It has been a pleasure to follow Jürgen’s journey over the past nine seasons.

“What better way to celebrate such an icon than to create something truly unique, collaborating with Erdinger Weissbräu and raising money for a brilliant cause in the process.”
