Cricket continues to grow in popularity as the Cornwall Cricket Board’s summer program received over 1000 registrations in the first month alone.

It is aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 11, regardless of their skill level.

Working with 39 cricket clubs across the county, the board confidently delivers the ‘All Stars’ and ‘Dynamos Cricket’ programmes, providing a unique opportunity for budding cricketers to immerse themselves in the sport.

Starting in April, this summer’s program has seen an encouraging initial turnout, and those interested are urged to register so they don’t miss out.

Recognizing the importance of access for all, regardless of financial circumstances, the board also supports low-income families through a special program that ensures the game of cricket is equally enjoyable for everyone.

Aimed at children aged 5-8, All Stars Cricket offers a fantastic and affordable £30 eight-week program where children can experience their first taste of the sport.

As an introductory scheme, it focuses on ensuring children have fun while learning new skills and making friends.

On the other hand, Dynamos Cricket, at a fee of £40 per child, is aimed at children aged between 8 and 11 and aims to further develop the cricketing skills of those moving on from All Stars.

Along with their new custom cricket jersey, participants are guaranteed to develop their cricket knowledge.

Christopher Anderson, Schools and Clubs Development Officer for Cornwall Cricket Board, said: “It’s really great to break the 1000 kids signing up for Cornwall All Stars and Dynamos – especially at such a short time!

“However, there are still plenty of places available to sign up and have a fun-filled summer of cricket around the county!

“Check out All Stars cricket or Dynamos cricket and enter your postcode to ‘catch’ the nearest and most suitable programme!”

Those interested in helping the cause can visit the Cornwall Cricket Board website to sign up, inquire about subsidized places for lower income families or find out more about sponsorship and fundraising opportunities.

The initiative gives children aged 5 and above, as well as adults, the chance to experience the joy of cricket across the county, further fueling the sport’s popularity.
