Management consultant takes on president at communications agency

East Midlands communications and engagement company BakerBaird has appointed a management consultant as its new company chairman.

Nic Newall, who has worked with global brands such as Jaguar Land Rover and L&G, has been advising the Nottingham business since 2017 on strategy and business development.

Alongside founders Richard Baker and Sturt Baird, the BakerBaird team includes account director Gaby Taylor, formerly director of communications at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Alongside Jaguar Land Rover and L&G and government departments such as the DfE, Newall has been appointed Midlands Ambassador for Young Enterprise in 2023 after seven years as a voluntary adviser.

She said: “I have advised BakerBaird informally since it was launched. Stuart, Richard, Gaby and the team have made significant progress as the communications and engagement provider of choice for many of the East Midlands and local authorities’ major initiatives and delivered award-winning projects regionally, nationally and internationally. I am excited to be with them as they begin the next phase of their growth.”

Baird added: “Personally and professionally, Nic has been an inspiration to us, providing a combination of technical guidance, strategic insight and strong challenge.

“She will help us grow as a team, grow as a business, but also drive progress in what matters most – the quality of what we do for customers. We are taking BakerBaird to the next level and Nic’s absolute drive will help us build on that momentum.”
