Napoli considering summer move for Crystal Palace striker – South London News

Serie A side Napoli have a strong interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta ahead of a potential summer move, the South London Press understands.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed his best spell in front of goal for the Eagles this season, returning 20 assists across the campaign.

France striker Mateta has scored 13 Premier League goals this season and has netted 10 times since Oliver Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.

He also scored a hat-trick in the second round of the EFL Cup at Plymouth earlier in the season.

The former Lyon forward was awarded the club’s Player of the Season award for his performances this season.

Real Betis and Eintracht Frankfurt have monitored Mateta in recent windows, with the Eagles turning down two approaches from RB Leipzig in August 2023.

The Eagles value the former Mainz striker at around €30m.

Mateta, who made more than 100 appearances for Crystal Palace, has two years left, plus a club option, on his deal with the south Londoners.
