The woman was rushed to the hospital after shots were fired

A woman has been rushed to hospital following a shooting in Sheffield as a police scene remains in place.

South Yorkshire Police were called at 11.20pm on Monday (May 13) to reports of shots fired in Batemoor, Sheffield. Armed response officers as well as the National Police Air Service attended the incident.

A 41-year-old woman was taken to hospital, but her injuries were consistent with a stab wound. Now a scene remains in place on White Thorn View as officers investigate.

Police said: “We were called at 11.20pm yesterday (Monday 13 May) to reports of a firearms discharge in the Batemoor area of ​​Sheffield.

“Officers including our Armed Response Officers and the Police Air National Service have attended and a scene is currently in place at White Thorn View as officers work.

“A 41-year-old woman was taken to hospital with injuries similar to a knife wound.”

The investigation is now continuing and South Yorkshire Police have asked anyone with any information to get in touch by calling 101 quoting incident number 1209 of 13 May 2024.
