Manchester United have completed the signing of an exciting youngster ahead of the transfer window

Manchester United have officially completed the signing of teenager Dante Plunkett after a successful trial with the club.

Plunkett joined Aston Villa’s academy and now faces the challenge of progressing through United’s youth set-up with a view to earning a professional contract.

The youngster’s natural position is at left-back and he made his debut for United’s Under-18 Cup Double side in the penultimate game of the campaign.

Plunkett played over 80 minutes in that clash and impressed the United staff during his trial which saw him officially move to Manchester.

Plunkett confirmed his move to United on social media on Sunday evening, sharing a photo of himself standing in a club shirt next to the United Trinity statue outside Old Trafford.

United’s U18s have enjoyed great success this term, winning the league and cup at the expense of rivals Manchester City, and recruitment has been key to that.
